NOTES/UNIQUE REQUIREMENTS:
- Occasional weekend work for Disaster Recovery
- After hours on-call escalation availability for major production issues
- Occasional travel between Toronto and Waterloo
- RCMP clearance
Responsibilities:
- Help lead the day-to-day operational support, renewal, enhancement, and compliance and security initiatives for Corporate applications.
- Manage software engineering team with a wide range of skill levels and a diverse set of technologies.
- Participate in capacity planning and lead overall career development of software engineering team
- Build and lead a high-performance team, providing mentorship and coaching to team members, and fostering a positive and collaborative team culture
- Ensure adherence to the standards and procedures for system implementation using Sun Life directive for change management to ensure reliability, accessibility, integrity, and security.
- Understand, measure, and help remediate any issues related to the standard operations metrics for changes, incidents, problems as well as the SLAs for business partners.
- Maintain effective communication channels within and across all IT teams and vendors. Act as the liaison between these departments and their business partners.Proactively and reactively resolve business and IT challenges.
