Job Description:
The Manager, Solutions Architecture plays a key role in the delivery of the College’s digital solutions for administrative and academic needs. In collaboration with the Associate Director, Enterprise Architecture, the Manager is responsible for executing the department’s vision and strategy. The Manager is responsible for the development and management of all related Enterprise Architecture (EA) artifacts to support the Solutions Architecture practice. The Solutions Architecture function is responsible for understanding the College’s business and academic stakeholders’ needs in support of the College’s operational objectives, strategic goals and initiatives. The Manager determines how best to support those needs leveraging software, hardware, or infrastructure to create a cohesive, integrated, and enriched experience for students, staff, and faculty. The Manager, Solutions Architecture leads and oversees the development and maintenance of digital solutions within the solutions framework that will leverage current investments in technology and consider industry trends and best practices. The Manager collaborates with various College academic, business, functional, operational, and technical stakeholders.
Qualifications Required:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration or relevant discipline.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a management or leadership role in complex enterprise-wide projects, or strategic and operational reviews within a major public or private sector organization.
  • Solutions Architecture Certification preferred, such as:
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • Google Professional Cloud Architect
  • Open Group Certified Architect
  • Workday certification (an asset).
  • Experience in Workday (or cloud-based ERP) implementations.
  • Experience with Integration and Data Platforms.
  • Knowledge of Organizational Change Management principles, methodologies and tools.
  • Awareness and understanding of Enterprise Architecture concepts and methodologies such as TOGAF.
  • Higher Education or Public Sector experience is an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Compensation beyond the mid-point requires approval by the Public Sector Employers’ Council Secretariat (PSEC).
