Role: Solutions Engineering Manager (GSS Specialists EMEA) - Location Prague, EMEA
Splunk is looking for a highly motivated, tech-savvy and results-oriented manager to join the EMEA Global Shared Services (GSS) Solutions Engineering organisation. In this role you will lead a team of specialised Solutions Engineers who support our GSS team members and our Field sellers, engaging with them to help them with their more complex opportunities and as a point of technical escalation for the team.
You will work closely with other GSS and EMEA Specialist Solutions Engineering leaders and the EMEA specialist teams, knowledge sharing and aligning on best practices.
You will lead the skills planning and development roadmap for GSS EMEA, working with the GSS management team to proactively plan for the capacity of skills and capabilities required to support the business.
You will leverage your experience of Solutions Engineering and Splunk technologies to develop and evolve the strategy of the Specialist team, and to provide on-going support and coaching to your team members.
You will be a strong collaborator and relationship builder.
Responsibilities
Align efforts with organisational goals and sales objectives by setting benchmarks and measuring team performance
Build a new hire culture of continuous development and efficiency while instilling our Splunk values of Passionate, Innovative, Open, Disruptive and Fun.
Conduct talent calibration sessions and oversee team development plans
Stay active in communication channels, complete required training
Strong leadership of diverse and inclusive teams
Use metrics to demonstrate and communicate; Partner with the supporting teams to build and share reports/metrics/dashboards that are meaningful to stakeholders and measure performance, volumes & quality
Understand hiring processes, maintain candidate pipelines, and manage administrative tasks. Ensure policy compliance and oversee time-off requests and coverage
Support effective inclusive recruiting, training, coaching, team-building, and succession planning to build engaged and diverse teams passionate about a growth mindset
Commit to continuous development, meet GSS SE Manager MBOs, stay updated on Splunk’s products, and collaborate on quarterly objectives
Requirements
3-5 years professional experience in an Inside Sales Engineering or Virtual Solutions Engineering organisation
1-3 years of first line leadership experience leading an Inside SE or Virtual SE organisation
Experience working in the software industry, specifically with Solutions Engineers selling SaaS products, specifically with Splunk solutions
Technically curious and able to articulate the value that technology brings to solving customer problems
Proven communication skills – written and oral. Ability to communicate complex ideas cross functionally across leadership and individual contributor levels both internally and externally
Ability to lead diverse groups of people and able to challenge and develop the team to exceed their goals both personally and professionally. A strong collaborator and relationship builder
Strong ability to inspire others, support an inclusive culture and role model for Splunk’s values
Desire to learn, grow and be a part of our expanding and dynamic Team
Experience of leading complex projects including program design, stakeholder management and change management.
