Description:

Overview:
This position is responsible for the strategy and growth of sports medicine programs and services throughout designated regions. This includes the ability to provide strategic planning oversight and partner with operational leadership for all sports medicine services throughout the Novant Health organization, administrative leadership for developing programs within the Novant Health System, enhance Sports Medicine Services including business plan development, program enhancement, new program feasibility assessment, and special project management, manage multiple projects simultaneously and support the planning process, from discussions of broad strategic concepts to decisions associated with the development of concrete action plans.
This position is also responsible for strategic planning and growth projects in the Sports Medicine service line across Novant Health by working with leaders and physicians to ensure programs and strategic direction meet the community’s needs.
Facilitates synthesis and presentation of internal and external information. Analyzes and synthesizes data from multiple sources and presents information in a useful format to enhance understanding of the market, program, or service under study and facilitate decision-making. Presents information and concepts in a concise and easily understood manner. Oversee the sports medicine component of the orthopedic program, including oversight of the athletic trainers. Develop strategic partnerships to advance orthopedic and sports medicine services, including physician partners both within and independent of Novant Health Medical Group physicians. Standardize quality indicators for orthopedic services. Promote orthopedic services through outreach, which will include provider education of orthopedic services available and criteria for appropriate orthopedic referrals. Proactively identify opportunities to improve the patient experience as well as the efficiency and effectiveness of resource allocation.

Qualifications:

  • Education: 4 / Year Bachelors Degree, required. Graduate Degree, preferred.
  • Experience: 3 years experience in business strategy, value based purchasing required. Supervisor/Management experience, required.
  • Licensure/certification/registration: Current licensure in an appropriate state and BOC - Athletic Training certified, required.
  • Additional skills required: Demonstrates commitment to improving care for the patient population and expanding orthopedic services within Novant Health. Exhibits strong skills in interpersonal communication. Demonstrates skills in clinical quality improvement and resource management. Demonstrates strong leadership skills and develops and maintains skill in organizing work to achieve clinic goals and objectives. Is an effective problem solver. Ability to analyze and interpret complex data. Ability to research and prepare comprehensive reports. Ability to monitor quality control standards.
  • Additional skills preferred: Knowledge of surgical operations(Medical group and acute care). HR management skills.
