The Manager, Supply Chain will oversee Rubicon’s procurement and logistics functions, ensuring smooth, cost-effective, and timely operations throughout the supply chain. This role requires leadership and the ability to manage cross-functional teams, resolve issues, and improve processes. The Supply Chain Manager will manage the logistics, procurement, and order fulfillment teams, with the Logistics Specialist, Order Fulfillment Coordinator, and the Supply Chain Coordinator reporting directly to them.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5-7 years’ experience in supply chain roles with increasing leadership responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to support the growth and development of high-performing supply chain teams.
  • Experience working with ERP systems to improve supply chain and operational efficiency.
  • Strong background in managing cross-functional projects and coordinating with different teams.
  • Experience in Procurement, Logistics, and Order Fulfillment and exposure to operations leadership is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to address technical and operational challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Procurement function, managing the end-to-end sourcing of materials, goods, and services.
  • Lead the logistics function, managing inbound and outbound shipments of cannabis and non-cannabis products across Canada and internationally.
  • Lead the order fulfillment function with the ultimate goal of exceeding on-time, in-full, no error targets with our customers.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the Procurement and Logistics teams. Set clear performance goals, provide feedback, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
  • Oversee the Logistics Specialist in executing day-to-day logistics, including booking appointments with Provincial Boards, coordinating with 3PL partners, and ensuring compliance with shipment documentation requirements.
  • Oversee and manage outbound shipments, ensuring OTIF delivery by managing 3PL partners and freight carriers, and supporting the Logistics Specialist in resolving real-time logistics challenges (e.g., delays, shortages, 3PL performance).
  • Define, monitor and report on Procurement and Logistics KPIs and ensure alignment with Rubicon’s supply chain strategy, as defined in conjunction with Director, Supply Chain.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships across departments (e.g., Finance, R&D, Innovation, Brand, Sales, and Operations), ensuring cross-functional support for Procurement and Logistics initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction in Procurement and Logistics by optimizing supplier selection, route planning, and shipping methods.
  • Lead supplier selection and development processes, managing data analysis, and ensuring informed supplier decisions based on data. Oversee contract negotiations, drafting, and implementation of contracts, RFPs, and ongoing contract compliance reviews.
  • Contribute to annual budgeting efforts by providing year-on-year analysis on standard costs, budget variances, and Purchase Price Variance (PPV) metrics.
  • Be the Procurement and Logistics SME for implementation of ERP.
  • Mentor and oversee Supply Chain Coordinator in Procurement activities such as PO creation, purchasing, supplier relationship management, and contract negotiation.
  • Perform regular supplier business and contract reviews to ensure adherence to deliverables, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive cost savings through strategic supplier negotiations.
  • Manage the creation and implementation of the Procurement and Logistics dashboards, with relevant information to the leadership team.
  • Develop procurement strategies that optimize supplier performance, mitigate risk, and deliver cost savings.
  • Ensure the Logistics team adheres to compliance with international shipping regulations, including overseeing import/export permits when required.
  • Other activities as defined by the Director, Supply Chain.
