Responsibilities:

1) Establish vision and goals for Talent Management team

2) Performance & Succession

  • Oversee the identification of critical positions and development of succession plans.
  • Lead the creation and implementation of talent assessment, performance, and career development programs.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive workforce plan, including the identification of critical positions, required quantities, and necessary skill sets.

3) Talent Acquisition Strategy and Onboarding

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of an external talent pool.
  • Lead the development and execution of talent attraction strategies, processes, and employment branding initiatives.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of Candidate Experience and Onboarding Programs.

4) Culture and Employee Engagement

  • Oversee the development and execution of the UofA People Strategy.
  • Lead the creation and implementation of Employee Engagement Strategies to foster a positive organizational culture.

5) Program Evaluation and Measurement

  • Establish metrics and KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of talent management programs and initiatives.
  • Collect and analyze feedback to continuously improve program quality and relevance.

6) Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with internal clients, including department heads and HR Partners, to understand their needs and deliver solutions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external vendors, consultants, and other stakeholders to enhance the quality and breadth of programs.

7) Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of training and development professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture.
  • Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to excel.
  • Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and encourage continuous learning within the team.

8) Budget and Resource Management

  • Manage the budget for talent management initiatives, ensuring efficient use of resources.
