JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you passionate about Total Rewards and Payroll? If so, Women’s College Hospital is seeking a permanent full-time Manager, Total Rewards and Payroll. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources and Volunteer Services the Manager, Total Rewards and Payroll provides oversight in the areas of Total Rewards (compensation, benefits, rewards and recognition), HRIS Systems and Payroll. The incumbent will lead the HR Team in the provision of advice and guidance with respect to services, policies, processes, programs and projects that support the employee life cycle. Using the Corporate Strategic Plan and People Strategy as a roadmap, the Manager will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to develop and implement creative solutions aligned with the Hospital’s mission, vision and strategic direction.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree Human Resources, Commerce, Business Administration or other related area required.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in progressive leadership role, with oversight and accountability for a team providing full scope Total Rewards and Payroll Services in a fast paced, unionized organization.
  • Master’s degree in human resources, Business Administration preferred.
  • Professional certification (CHRP/CHRL) preferred.
  • CCP and/or CEBs designation preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Healthcare of broader public sector experience in HR preferred.
  • Sound working knowledge and experience with HR practices and principles including provincial legislation (Pay Equity, Employment Standards, Health and Safety) Collective Agreement administration and the ability to effectively interpret and apply accordingly.
  • Strong relationship management skills with experience in partnering, influencing, coaching and building credibility with leaders and the HR team.
  • Strong change management skills with demonstrated ability to act as a catalyst for change within the operation.
  • Demonstrated record of good performance and acceptable attendance will be considered as part of the selection criteria.
  • Professional behaviour and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or association, as applicable, and the standards of Women’s College Hospital.
  • This position plays a critical role in acting as an advocate for safety and demonstrate principles, practices and processes that optimize a safe environment for all.
