AGL’s Physical Markets & Trading unit has an exciting opportunity for a Manager – Trading Algorithm Development.
Based in Melbourne, you will be building and leading a team of analysts and software developers to develop and optimise algorithms and systems that allow AGL to respond quickly to market conditions – particularly focused on battery technologies.
This role will be based in AGL’s Trading team, helping grow AGL’s trading capability in the expanding complexities as the NEM transitions to a more renewable supply mix.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading a team of industry specialists who will be ensuring the continuous improvement of systems to allow for optimal response to market conditions
- Developing a roadmap for algorithm trading,
- Automation of procedural bidding steps and decisions
- Developing optimisation models, and performance tracking metrics of grid-scale generation and energy-storage assets
- Improving accuracy, breadth and performance of automated bidding algorithms in line with the rules of the NEM
- Implementing production-level algorithms to a high degree of coding discipline
- Working and communicating with the wider business to keep them up to date with the technology being used and implemented.
