This role is pivotal in leading the transportation for LCD AMER, focusing on quality, compliance, service, and cost improvements. Responsibilities:

  • Lead our LCD Americas transportation network to ensure positive customer experience and optimized cost to serve.
  • Manage and ensure transportation provider performance meets the needs of operations, customers, and the supply chain by driving on-time delivery, quality, and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain a continuous improvement funnel of projects aimed at enhancing transportation performance, optimizing efficiency, and reducing costs, while aligning with overall supply chain goals.
  • Build an effective inbound and outbound road/air network by applying the appropriate mix of Full Truck Load, Less Than Truck Load, ocean, and parcel carriers.
  • Identify and resolve day to day transportation challenges impacting inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional departments (purchasing, planning, commercial, operations, etc.) to develop the most efficient inbound, outbound, and facility-to-facility strategy while maintaining customer expectations.
  • Develop and present monthly business reviews (MBR) that accurately depict the status of the departments performance and actions in place for forward progress.
  • Define and track metrics; maintain unified dashboards and reports on project/program progress.
  • Provide divisional financial information (forecast revenue, reporting) and maintain annual budget targets in partnership with senior management.
  • Collaborate with corporate transportation to bring to bear standard methodologies and ensure consistency.
  • Review and monitor transportation cost containment and drive continuous improvement through analysis and operational enhancement.
  • Serve as an effective safety steward by ensuring accurate reporting of near misses and attending safety trainings.
  • Operate a safe work environment through continuous safety awareness and full compliance to all EH&S programs and activities.
  • Travel up to 10%.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in supply chain, business logistics, finance, or related area; a master’s or advanced degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of transportation/logistics leadership management experience.

Knowledge skills abilities

  • Solid understanding of carrier operations and costs required. Must be familiar with all modes of transportation, such as LTL, TL, intermodal, air/ocean freight, and parcel.
  • Must have a consistent track record of optimally managing a financial P&L, building, and achieving an annual operating plan that drives year-over-year cost reductions.
  • Support a management philosophy of empowering individuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through others.
  • Must possess the leadership skills to take charge and inspire change by initiating actions.
  • Must have superb coordination skills to plan, coordinate, and set priorities to facilitate timely execution.
  • Must have experience and be comfortable in a highly structured/procedure environment.
  • Must possess strong systems (including database management and reporting) and project management skills; must be PC literate in Outlook, Excel, Access, and Word.
