The Opportunity
Working closely with the Head of Vendor Performance and Contract Management you will be responsible for the strategic management and performance of all the outsourced agreements and external partner programs/project services across the technology portfolio.
In this hands-on commercial and contract management role, you will be the interface between our technology stakeholders and selected vendors. You will be responsible for determining portfolio requirements, negotiating contract terms, and delivering on vendor management plans to balance value, performance, and risk.
While this role will ideally be based in Melbourne we are also open to candidates based in Sydney or Brisbane.

To do this successfully you will:

  • Engage with senior stakeholders within AIA and its vendor network to understand long-term business goals that can be enabled by third party relationships
  • Lead the development of new contracts and manage iterations. Where necessary work with cross-functional teams for complex negotiations and/or vendor remediation pieces
  • Develop strategies to manage partner service relationships and operationalize frameworks to monitor service agreements. This includes governance, strategic planning and escalation management
  • Develop and help deliver on remediation plans to address regulatory requirements and high-risk audit findings
  • Fullfil contract lifecycle management and administration of supply contracts

Successful applications will demonstrate:

  • Ability to manage and lead suppliers at senior management level to deliver high performing supply chains
  • Stakeholder management that ensures clear communication and shared outcomes and understood and met
  • Proven experience in managing large scale IT outsourcing agreements utilizing standardized policy and procedure
  • Substantial and sustainable commercial benefits from (re)negotiations covering infrastructure and application managed services, software, hardware and ‘as a service agreements’
  • Tertiary qualification, preferably post-graduate level in a Commercial/Business discipline and commercial experience gained within the enterprise and/or APRA regulated environment
