Description:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with related coursework and three (3) years professional experience in a public or private organization.
- Requires the ability to lift and carry 25 lbs.
- Requires possession of a valid Illinois Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) like SharePoint. (I have built a Learning Hub on SharePoint)
- Project management experience in handling multiple training projects across department sections.
- Basic understanding of IT systems and networks.
- Experience with event planning/coordinating.
- Some understanding of graphic design.
- Communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to end users.
- Good grasp of various training methodologies, in-person or virtual.

Responsibilities:
- As staff assistant to the Chief Deputy, develops, coordinates, implements and maintains the Secretary of State Information Technology education program; performs a wide variety of highly responsible administrative duties in assisting the Director in directing and coordinating several departmental programs related to education, i.e. agency wide IT education plan, management training plans, development of IT liaison training materials; maintains a record of all end-user training classes.
- Performs extensive liaison duties with the IT liaisons and Information Technology management staff and outside vendors regarding education on current or future IT software programs and/or operations and with other management personnel in various department to coordinate education and training efforts throughout the state; reviews training modules to assure uniformity with office and operations standards; researches and assists with scheduling and coordinating IT technical development classes.
- Participates in developing and presenting orientation and Microsoft computer development training for agency staff; develops instruction outlines for specific training presentations; prepares training aids and written materials for instructional programs; researches and assists in the evaluation of computer training needs for skill development.
- Performs administrative work for the Chief Deputy involving technical and operations training and staff development within the Department of Information Technology, including development, implementation and presentation of education programs, materials, evaluations and audio-visual presentations.
- Responds to inquiries from management staff, supervisors and others from within and outside the department regarding education programs, requests for training, scheduling online or in person education and/or printed education resources.
- Recommends proposals for expenditures such as equipment, commodities, travel, printing, educations courses, training aids, and audio-visual presentations and recommends methods to maintain budgetary control. Consults with and advised Admin Staff on any problems or concerns related to the budget for education and training.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned
