Managing Director, Logistics – North America
Job Description Summary
We are looking for an experienced Managing Director to control and oversee all Logistics business operations, people, and ventures. You will lead the North American Daher Logistics Division and will be responsible for the overall success of all logistics operations. The ideal candidate will be a strategist and a leader able to steer the company to the most profitable direction while also implementing its vision, mission, and long-term goals. The main goal is to ensure the company is constantly moving towards fulfilling its short-term and long-term objectives and does not diverge from its strategic guidelines. One of the key strategic guidelines is to extend the customer base in the Southeast area of the United States and lead overall business development initiatives.

Job description

  • Develop and execute the company’s business strategies to attain the objectives.
  • Lead business development initiatives to enlarge our customer base in the country.
  • Provide strategic advice to the Division & Group leaders so that they will have accurate view of the market and the company’s future in the country.
  • Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement by planning cost-effective operations and market development activities.
  • Ensure company policies and legal guidelines are communicated all the way from the top down in the company and that they are always followed.
  • Communicate and maintain trust relationships with all stakeholders including customers, business partners and authorities.
  • Oversee the company’s financial performance, investments, and other business ventures.
  • Manage and drive direct or cross-functional support functions providing guidance and motivation to reach maximum performance.
  • Review all submitted reports by your team to reward performance, prevent issues and conflicts and arbitrate when needed.
  • Act as the public speaker and public relations representative of the company in ways that strengthen its profile.
  • Analyze problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company growth.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as Managing Director or other managerial position.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing strategic and business plans.
  • Profound knowledge of Supply Chain / Industrial businesses.
  • Proven experience in external logistics contractual is a must.
  • Aerospace business knowledge would be an added value.
  • Thorough knowledge of market changes and forces that influence the company.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and measures of performance.
  • Familiarity with corporate law and management best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • BSc/BA in business administration or relevant field; MSc/MA will be preferred.
  • Fluency in French, Spanish or German would be a good addition for communications with European based Daher operations.

Profile and other information related to the position
Compensation is $200,000 - $230,000 base salary plus annual target bonus. Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.
