Aon has an opportunity for a Managing Director to join our Alternative Risk Transfer Team based in Chicago, or New York City
In this role you will drive key broking strategies, with specific focus on Alternative Risk Transfer & Innovation. You will partner with producers, account executives, broking leaders, office leaders, and carrier executives. You will be an integral part of the Strategic Solutions & Innovation Practice actively building out and scaling Aon capabilities in collaboration with various groups across the firm. This role will also engage with insurance companies and other capital providers to bring innovative alternative risk transfer solutions to market.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE THAT WILL LEAD TO SUCCESS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of broking, account management, insurance experience or other transferrable experience.
  • Interest in alternative risk transfer solutions such parametric insurance, multi-year structured programs, multi-line risk transfer, captive aggregate stop loss solutions, or other innovative risk capital solutions
  • Proven thought leadership and comfort with developing technology tools to assist ART team workflows.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to provide insight and recommendations via creative solutions to sophisticated problems.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude and willingness to challenge status quo ideas.
  • Ability to work in a sophisticated matrix environment across various functional, business, and geographic leaders while motivating and inspiring others.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the marketing, execution, and ongoing client service related to Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) transactions.
  • Engage as part of the team to develop and implement processes to improve client service and replicate growth.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Risk clients and Aon colleagues to develop new value-generating ideas and alternatives to traditional risk transfer approaches, intended to facilitate client decision making, help navigate volatility, and optimally match capital to risk.
  • Work with account executives and brokers throughout the renewal process to uncover unique but significant challenges that warrant consideration of an alternative risk transfer solutions.
  • In partnership with insurers, other capital providers and Aon colleagues, collaborate on Alternative Risk Transfer solution development, and develop strategies to incubate and bring the solutions to clients.
  • Help drive the execution of Commercial Risk priorities including strategic solutions and innovation, thought leadership, and the adoption of risk analytics and related tools.
  • Assists product innovation, the development of purposeful solutions, and the coordination of strategic risk consulting recommendations.
  • Leads Delivering Aon United processes through the contribution to large RFP project responses.
  • Owns an innovation agenda and collaborates with other Aon teams to find opportunities to develop Aon-specific MGA’s and similar aggregation vehicles and concepts
