Summary
Designs and implements manufacturing methods and processes that support product quality and quantity goals and objectives as valued by our customers.

Essential Functions

  • Provides engineering support by troubleshooting problems, monitoring and testing new methods and procedures to ensure system efficiencies.
  • Designs manufacturing processes within schedule and budgetary parameters, provides and maintains cost.
  • Reviews and recommends changes to mechanical drawings and process documentation (ECR’s, ECO’s, Deviations, etc.).
  • Develops processes, methods and tooling for new programs and supervises their assembly.
  • Develops and designs workstation layout using motion economy principles, material handling devices, etc.
  • Develops, installs, and maintains equitable work measurement standards.
  • Measures variances to standards, identifies out of control variances, investigates reasons, and formulates solutions through root cause analysis and tools.
  • Controls process costs by monitoring division performance to established budgets.
  • Reduce or eliminate non-value activities from value streams.
  • Perform Lean initiative in process and 5’s implementations.
  • Answering CAR form the designated area.
  • Research new technology to process improvement and Cost reduction initiatives.
  • Interfaces with other manufacturing departments to address and resolve engineering issues.
  • Work with Procurement Team to communicates with vendors and outside sales personnel to evaluate, cost estimate and select purchased parts.
  • Participates at initiation phase of new product lines to design for cost effective manufacturing and building tools by motion economy principles.
  • Writes procedures for the operation of new or existing equipment.
  • Maintains a record of methods changes for cost reductions.
  • Product costing.
  • Other responsibilities as needed and assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Lean manufacturing strong knowledge (Must)
  • Create and analized information to obtain path to follow and create KPI for departments.
  • Be able to interact at all level of the company.
  • Autocad knowledge or any other program.
  • Knowledge of modern fabrication and assembly techniques and machine shop practices.
  • Capable of efficiently integrating existing methods with new innovations to economically solve production problems in a timely manner.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Computer skills required: Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, CAD, and familiarity with manufacturing resource planning software required.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering required.
  • Previous experience may be substituted for formal training.
  • Five (5) years manufacturing engineering experience preferred.
