Bowmill Engineering and Bowmill Metal Treatments are privately owned businesses operating predominantly in the global aerospace sector and employing 130 staff at facilities occupying more than 72,000 sq.ft. in Poole, Dorset and in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. Now operating 3 factories in Poole, a treatments facility and in 2016 a new facility in Tewkesbury. Bowmill Poole is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer.

Responsibilities will include;

  • To determine and plan optimum manufacturing methods and processes.
  • Produce workshop job packs to AS9100 standard for release on to the shop floor.
  • Working to customer specifications and quality standards.
  • Support production with technical issues.
  • Identifying and organising tooling requirements for new parts.
  • Working closely with both customers and suppliers.

What we are looking for;

  • Previous experience in an Aerospace or other (high precision) manufacturing environment.
  • A good understanding of machining and manufacturing processes.
  • A good understanding of materials and surface treatment processes.
  • Appreciation of commercial considerations.
  • Experience of ERP systems and Excel.
  • Experience of CAD systems (Catia) beneficial.
