Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Engineer I works under direct supervision to implement companywide manufacturing processes based on established business strategies to ensure continual improvement, customer satisfaction, and adherence to company policy. Using their analytical, diagnostic, and investigative skills, the Manufacturing Engineer will determine methods and procedures to solve problems and provides direct support to design, fabricate, and evaluate manufacturing operations as it relates to these goals.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • 1 year of manufacturing engineering experience preferred
  • Good analytical, diagnostic, and investigation skills
  • Intermediate PC skills are required, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook; CAD skills preferred
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate with all levels of personnel
  • Ability to write, develop and deliver technical reports
  • Some project management experience preferred

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist with technical notices from customers through engineering notice procedure, assist with various team projects as needed, and recommend methods and processes required to meet production/design objectives
  • Maintain manufacturing operation standards and time standards for manufacturing processes, recommending methods and processes required to meet production/design objectives
  • Research causes of manufacturing process issues, develop enhancements, and implement approved actions to improve the manufacturing processes through machine corrections or the use of additional tools and/or automation
  • Research new automation equipment and coordinate with vendors and purchasing to procure new equipment and perform proof of concept checks, leading the introduction of newly purchased products to the manufacturing areas

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow company-wide safety programs, 5S initiatives, and ISO procedures
  • Provide consistent, high-quality output to ensure customer satisfaction and create value to exceed customer expectations
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required to accomplish essential functions of the job
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge of industry best practices by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, visiting other manufacturing facilities, and participating in professional societies
  • Ensure confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism
