Description:

A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will work on site and provide overall manufacturing engineering leadership and support to optical system fabrication. Moreover, you will provide independent review of the whole product development process (PDP), steer improvement efforts and drive process development and improvements. In addition, an important aspect of your role will be to interact with technical teams to provide sound technical support. In this role, you will report to the general manager.

You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Launching new technologies and developing products
  • Working in clean rooms
  • Supporting costing and NPI start up on new programs
  • Developing a manufacturing plan, identifying and procure equipment and tooling and setup the production lines. Develop and document the processes for optical, mechanical and electrical designs, optical sub-systems manufacturing, and all assembly, alignment and testing equipment.
  • Working closely with development engineering teams on the Product Development Process (PDP) from concept, design to production phases in providing input for manufacturability (DfX) and pFMEA.
  • Driving efforts to complete NPI deliverables in a timely manner, including training of technicians.
  • Implementing automated data collection plans and SPC to prevent product defect and minimize the failure rates.
  • Preparing and launching ECOs, Routers.
  • Actively working with cross functional teams (program managers, planners, buyers, document control, design engineers and leadership team) to implement the changes, within a time frame, correctly and independently.
  • Effectively communicating and identify issues during engineering builds and implement corrective actions to improve product manufacturing, yield and quality. Diagnose and debug issues in existing manufacturing processes or equipment with corrective actions implemented in a timely manner.

Skills You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Optical Engineering, Optics, Electronic, Electric, Mechanical or Physics.
  • Fluency in English
  • Hands-on work experience with opto-mechanical assemblies.
  • 2+ years of experience with manufacturing and applications in product development, engineering, integration and testing of complex hardware/software
  • 2+ years of experience in Opto-mechanical systems development or NPI/MFG engineering.

Preferred Skills:

  • Effective hands-on experience with defining, assembling, aligning and calibrating equipment setups, opto-mechanical alignment, data acquisition and analysis and troubleshooting test systems
  • Team player with proven ability to effectively present complex technical information to different audience
  • Proficient in MATLAB, AutoCAD
