At Moog Military Aircraft Group Wolverhampton, we are dedicated to delivering innovative solutions in precision engineering. Our Wolverhampton facility is at the forefront of manufacturing excellence, and we are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team.
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for precision machined components. This role involves participating in Continuous Improvement projects and applying LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance production efficiency and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and develop manufacturing processes for a variety of materials and prismatic components.
Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader and Seniors to meet production targets.
Engage in Continuous Improvement initiatives, advising on Design for Manufacture (DfM), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Utilize CAM software (preferably Edgecam or Partmaker) for machining processes and SolidWorks for CAD design.
Support the day-to-day operations of the machine shop, minimizing downtime due to process issues.
Assist in the investigation and implementation of process improvement activities.
Qualifications:
HNC/HND or Level 3 Full apprenticeship in Mechanical/Production/Manufacturing Engineering.
Significant experience in manufacturing/process engineering.
Proficiency in CNC programming and 3D CAD/CAM software.
Familiarity with DFM, DFSS, APQP methodologies, and Lean principles.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Understanding of SAP/Solumina business system
Security Clearance
Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role.
