Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join Sonatech LLC in Santa Barbara, California.
Sonatech LLC is a premier undersea acoustics engineering and manufacturing company. With a focus on supplying advanced SONAR solutions for the US Navy, our technical expertise, customized design capabilities and diverse manufacturing abilities have led to Sonatech products being deployed in virtually every class of underwater Navy system currently in operation.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Engineer at Sonatech will work closely with other engineers to provide design, documentation, test, and other technical support to Sonatech manufacturing. The position also works with Sonatech engineering as a bridge between manufacturing and engineering. This is a hands-on position getting to work with cutting edge underwater acoustics technology, and with the opportunity to learn and grow from more experienced engineers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidates should have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related discipline.
- A desire to learn the practical application of the elements of engineering for undersea acoustic design
- Ability to work with all levels of engineers, manufacturing and production personnel, sales, administration and management
- Strong attention to detail
- Solid organizational and planning skills
- Strong communication skills, articulate, team player, and dependable
- Self-starter, able to work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy/efficiency
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Solidworks CAD experience is a plus
- Must be a U.S. citizen

Salary range: $70,000 - $85,000 annually

Responsibilities:
- Work with other manufacturing engineers as a bridge between Sonatech engineering and manufacturing
- Perform electrical, mechanical, and underwater acoustic testing of various Sonatech acoustic products
- Setup, configure, and maintain manufacturing test equipment to ensure reliable and accurate testability
- Identify creative design solutions for improved product performance, manufacturability, reliability, or cost reduction
- Draft and maintain manufacturing documentation and procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency in the manufacturing build and test process
- Perform failure investigations to determine root cause of any component or designs issues
- Create, process, and implement Engineering Change Orders
- Provide ideas and input for continuous improvement of manufacturing and testing processes
- Prepare and present internal design reviews of new designs or concepts
