JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.
The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with experience in electronics or electro mechanical Manufacturing).
  • Additional years of experience of production process and equipment in a world class manufacturing environment.
  • Chartered Engineer status, or provides evidence of progress towards or achievement of C.Eng.
  • Awareness of SMT and PCB assembly would a distinct advantage.

Responsibilities:

ROLE SUMMARY: MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING MANAGER.

  • Hold technical responsibility and daily line management for a specific ME team delivering defined projects, manufacturing cell support and related work packages.
  • Provide leadership, accountability and output against programme milestones and manufacturing cell deliverables.
  • Own and be accountable for, high value business projects to deliver productivity, cost out and capacity where required.
  • Define and execute plans for development of required skill sets within manufacturing engineering team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the well being, load, capacity and execution of a team of Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Exercise the recognised supervisory responsibilities relating to PPG, career & professional development, recruitment, and training.
  • Actively drive for team development and growth, promote a culture of Continuous Improvement and data / analytical led decision making.
  • Develop the requirements across engineering disciplines and their relationship with other functions to deliver business and Manufacturing Engineering Team performance.
  • Act as a mentor for junior ME’s.
  • Ensure full support on manufacturing cells in line with delivery commitments and lead the team to deliver validated design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment to ensure integrity of design is met.
  • Develop use of maturity and risk mitigation tools such MRL and PFMEA within area of responsibility. Use the data generated to drive improvement projects.
  • Be cognisant of relevant toll gate reviews. Proactively assess product and processes against future toll gate requirements and drive action to ensure readiness.
