Description:
We are looking for Paper Handler operators (Forklift Experience required) for our Scarborough location, Starting Wage: $24.17 / 6 Month Wage: $26.34 / 12 Month Wage: $28.95, Shifts: Rotating (days/night/afternoon)
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to do repetitive lifting, bending and stair climbing
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to work autonomously and with little direction
- Detail oriented
- Exhibit a sense of urgency and be able to demonstrate the ability to solve problems in a fast-paced environment
- Valid Forklift License
Responsibilities:
- Transportation of paper rolls to and from the printing press using a motorized clamp truck.
- Load and unload paper rolls onto and from the paper printing machine in a timely and precise manner
- Safely operate hoist to lift and install print cylinders
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on paper-handling equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and minor adjustments, to keep them in optimal working condition
- Set up and adjust the paper feed and alignment mechanisms on the printing press, working closely with the Press Operators to optimize printing performance and engages in all activity related to press setup
- Monitor paper supply levels during printing runs and replenish as necessary to avoid interruptions
- Identify and report any paper defects, damages, or irregularities to supervisors to ensure high print quality and minimize waste
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while handling paper materials and operating equipment to prevent incidents and ensure a safe work environment
- Clean and demount printing plates.
- Assist in other general labour tasks as needed in the production area
- All other duties as required
