Specializing in precision machining and metal fabrication, our Sanmina Newark, California facility has 15 years experience in both precision and large format solutions for industrial, semiconductor, clean technology and oil & gas markets.We provide comprehensive engineering and test capabilities: from in-house and hydrostatic leak-testing of medium and large format vacuum chambers to machining of precision stainless steel mechanisms. We have the capacity to machine components up to 3 meters.Our metal fabrication services include grinding, vacuum welding, heat treating, plating and anodizing. We can process many advanced materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, plastics, ferrous-non ferrous and other exotic alloys
Job Purpose:
The Cleanroom Manager is responsible for leadership and management of day-to-day operations of the Cleanroom for both locations Newark and Fremont. The ideal candidate will possess technical knowledge of diverse cleanroom equipment, research support needs, and operational excellence of a shared-use research facility of this nature. Effective leadership, organizational, communications and customer service skills are a must. Ability to work with a variety of lab clientele (faculty, graduate students, industrial clients, etc.) is foundational to providing excellence in technical / scientific guidance, support, and services.
Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide effective leadership and management of day-to-day cleanroom technical operations, inspiring high standards of client and research support services;
- Provide daily specific instructions to clean room resources to achieve linear production output.
- Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering and Production technicians to increase RGA and Functional Test Yields.
- Use ERP Shortage, WO and Kit Reports to effectively mitigate materials related impact to production output.
- Create and implement risk assessment and mitigation plans to prevent quality and production issues.
- Work closely with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering to avoid shipments with deviation notices
- Contribute vision and input to continued development of the Cleanroom facility and acquisition of research equipment assets;
- Deliver facility orientation and equipment training to cleanroom users, develop equipment SOPs;
- Offer technical / scientific consultation, guidance and services to cleanroom users and industrial clients;
- Collaborate with Clean room technician to best ensure uptime of equipment in support of the university’s research and education missions;
- Maintain, troubleshoot and repair ailing equipment, minimizing downtime;
- Enhance relationships and coordination with equipment manufacturers’ service personnel for repair services as needed;
- Maintain adequate inventory/control usage of Clean room consumables: deposition materials, specialty chemicals & gasses;
- Help ensure facility compliance with university (EH&S) safety standards, local environmental safety standards and appropriate quality assurance standards;
- Maintain data sheets with respect to hazardous materials and records of inspection and safety procedures;
- Help ensure compliance to cleanroom Class 1000 standards, monitoring particles controls and positive air pressure, oversee annual cleanroom recertification.
Education and Experience
- B.S. Degree in Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
- 5 years of experience in clean room operations involving semiconductor and/or electrical engineering research and development.
- Ability to work collegially with constituents in providing technical / scientific consultation, equipment training and operation.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and production flow.
- Ability to work from drawings, work instructions, diagrams, parts lists, procedures, and others.
- Must be able to work with diverse groups of employees.
- Must be able to work in a team setting. Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office. Able to work flexible hours and schedule.

Salary Range (annual): $ 100000 - $140000
