Sulzer Pump Solutions Ireland Ltd, (SPIRL) is part of the Flow Equipment (FE) division of Sulzer specializes in pumping solutions to meet our customers. With our onsite global design team, we engineer, manufacture and test products and solutions that support water recycling in a sustainable energy efficient way. Having over 50 years of design and manufacturing in Wexford, we are proud our products have a history of working hard to keep keeping our local and global water infrastructure clean.
We manufacture over 100,000 pumps annually in Wexford and we are currently seeking a key role of Manufacturing Manager to oversee this production and enable us for growth.
We are looking for a/an Manufacturing Manager to join our FE_WIBU team in Ireland .
The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for all aspects of production and the “Value Stream” of our range of products.
The role includes direct responsibility of all manufacturing, testing, paint and packing cells. You will be required to engage with all respective support functions using our value stream structure, to ensure that the products are manufactured in a safe way, to the required quality, within the scheduled plan, delivered on time and to the planned product manufacturing costs.

Responsibilities:

YOUR MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for operational excellence and continuous improvement of key performance indicators such as Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Costs. .
  • Work with Supply Chain team to ensure operation capacity is aligned to demand using short term, medium term and long-range capacity planning.
  • Maximize production efficiency by having a flexible organization based on a structure approach to cross training between all facilities and products.
  • Being an advocate for our tier management process, empowering teams in continuous improvements and holding them accountable for performance.
  • Coordinates with scheduling, planning and procurement depts to ensure process, materials, personnel and equipment are available for production to support customer needs on a weekly basis.
  • Work with our Product, Technology and Digitization (PDT) and Product Management (PM) teams to support product lifecycle, such as new product manufacturing and product rationalization.
  • Work with your counterparts in other global production facilities to optimize and align on production standards by sharing good and best practices.
  • Using our Excellence System Evaluation to identify strategic areas for improvement to further mature operations excellence.
  • Develop the Value Stream thinking organization, and work with manufacturing engineering on the CI journey of ‘current state’, to ‘future state’, to ‘ideal state’.
  • Leveraging technologies such as data analytics, MES, digitization and automation where practical to drive continuous improvements in operations.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

  • 10 + years in senior manufacturing roles - discrete manufacturing a plus.
  • Proven track record of delivering step change results in manufacturing performance KPIs, using lean and continuous improvement principals.
  • Proven ability to promote and drive continuous improvement culture and developing your teams through a lead transformation.
  • Experience with Value Stream Thinking and ability to conduct cross functional process mapping and value stream mapping.
  • Demonstrated accountability in managing multiple tasks and multiple metrics.
  • Ability to balance the ‘running today’ performance, enabling a culture of ‘continuous improvement’, while ensuring you take time to develop and execute on longer term strategic change management.
  • Experience developing and executing on operational strategies.
  • Excellent work ethic and operations excellence approach in daily work.
    Educational Background required : Degree in Engineering or a relevant production discipline. Higher level masters in business is an advantage.
