We work directly with builders, code officials and fire prevention officers to develop cost-effective fire-retardant treatments that exceed fire code requirements. BarrierTek has been at the forefront of developing fire protectants for wood structures since 2010.
We’re looking for an energetic and experienced Operations Supervisor with experience in manufacturing to join us in our fast-paced, team oriented work environment.
Reporting directly to the Operations/Plant Manager, the Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily activities and performance of the operations production team, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and in compliance with company policies and standards. This role requires a balance of strategic planning and hands-on execution to drive productivity and achieve operational goals. The Operations Supervisor must be adept at troubleshooting issues, optimizing processes, and leading the shop teams towards continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field
  • Previous supervisory or management experience within operations in manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of operational best practices and methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Experience with process improvement and lean principles
  • Proficiency in utilizing ERP systems and operational software
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in operations or a related field
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing a team
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good understanding of safety practices and compliance standards
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $30.00 per hour
    Expected hours: No less than 48 per week

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations and ensure efficient workflow
  • Monitor and manage team performance to meet productivity targets
  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures
  • Coordinate with other departments to streamline operations
  • Develop and execute operational plans and strategies
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions
  • Scheduling and managing shifts for crew to ensure there is proper coverage for production. Responsible to cover any vacation time or sick leave for said personnel.
  • Conduct regular team/toolbox meetings and provide ongoing training
  • Prepare and analyze operational reports to inform decision-making
  • Maintain inventory control and ensure adequate supplies
  • Resolve operational issues promptly and effectively
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment
  • Inspecting work equipment to identify damages and related findings. Inform management of any safety issues or inefficacies to find resolutions and enable smooth flow of operations.
  • Responsible for inspection of QA on final produced products.
  • May be responsible for other tasks and duties as they occur within the needs of the business.
