Description:
WHAT’S THE JOB ALL ABOUT?
Active Motif’s Manufacturing Department is looking for a Manufacturing Research Associate I. The successful individual will join a highly motivated team-focused bio-manufacturing group and will participate in the manufacturing and production of research-use only products by following SOPs and maintaining accurate records to achieve high-quality.
Responsibilities:
- Manufactures and performs basic testing of a variety of biological products such as buffers, DNA, cell lysates and antibodies
- Performs production tasks such as filling of product and labeling of tubes
- Performs work following work instructions (WIs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Maintains proper documentation; follows Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
- Responsible for accurate labor time accounting and proper accounting of material usage
- Performs all activities in accordance with our Quality Management System
- Responsible for participating in general lab organization and maintenance
- Understands the function and correctly utilizes equipment
- Follows all safety requirements
- Performs all work with a high accuracy of execution
- Executes all work in a time dependent manner and quality dependent manner
- Communicates and presents work within department to team members
- Contributes ideas and suggestions for continuous improvement
- Performs under supervision
- Required to work full-time on site
- Other duties as required and/or assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Biological Sciences (in Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences or related fields) or Biomanufacturing
- 0-1 years of relevant industry experience; experience in an ISO/GMP environment a plus
- Ability to understand and perform basic math calculations such as dilution, percentage, and concentration
- Ability to use general laboratory equipment such as balances, pH meter, pipettes and centrifuges
- Knowledge of cell and molecular biology and techniques such as PCR, plasmid preparations, SDS-PAGE, Western Blots, Lysate preparation, or chromatography a plus
