EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A relevant third level qualification in Engineering and/or senior trades with relevant experience is required to understand the nature of the business.
  • Experience in an engineering environment in a related industry for at least five years will provide a good foundation for this job function.
  • Working knowledge and experience on PLC and QBMS systems

Responsibilities:

  • Excellent understanding of Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic systems and PLC systems.
  • Tracking of parts inventory using Maximo system.
  • Perform day-to-day preventative and demand maintenance as required and execute using Maximo system.
  • Attend meetings and keep managers regularly updated with line performance.
  • Consistent monitoring of line performance using OEE.
  • Liaison and coordination of external contractors to complete required maintenance or breakdown service.
  • Hands-on role at troubleshooting/fault finding and maintaining equipment and plant-related items to ensure the proper operation and service of equipment and utilities to plant standards.
  • Assist in FAT, SAT and completing qualification protocols.
  • Conduct business in a manner that will protect human health, safety and the environment by complying with all applicable EHS laws, as well as the Abbott Global and Technical standards.
  • Resolve technical issues in an effective & timely manner to support operations.
  • Ensuring equipment/systems meet the required legal, divisional and corporate standards.
  • Ensuring safety standards are met and safe working practices adhered to.
  • Communicate effectively with plant management, corporate and division engineering.
  • Maintain ETMS to do list.
