Description:

MANUFACTURING TRAINER

The Manufacturing Trainer will play a key role in establishing the Manufacturing Training team within the Manufacturing Operations group. The individual will work closely in a team environment and liaise with functional areas within the business. A key element of the role will be maintaining departmental curricula and training plans. The role will also involve direct input and co-ordination of the onboarding process as required including scheduling and delivering training as needed.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

As Manufacturing Trainer, you’ll be joining an organization where people of all backgrounds and experiences are respected, and where we work together focused on changing lives. In this role you’ll be reporting to the Manufacturing Operations Associate Director.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Diploma, BSc, MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Bioscience, Biotechnology or Analytical Science.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 2 years in biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems is required (i.e. MasterControl or similar).
  • Experience as a trainer with cross-functional teams while understanding the training systems is a key requirement of the role.
  • Experience managing training documentation and performing data entry is essential.
  • Proficiency in operating within a drug substance commercial manufacturing facility and/or a pilot plant.
  • Knowledge of GMP systems such as SAP, LIMS and Benchtop equipment would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design and needs analysis
  • Ideally, experience in establishing a Manufacturing department and working in a team in a ‘greenfield’ context of similar size and scale.
  • Strong team player with the demonstrated ability to manage and support manufacturing operations in flexible and dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • As a key member of the Manufacturing Operations team in WuXi Biologics Ireland, you will be responsible for delivering training to the Manufacturing team as required both during the onboarding process and in the sustaining environment.
  • Provide expert training support to the Manufacturing department.
  • Collaborates with Manufacturing Area Management and the Operations Training Business Partner to implement functional area training requirements.
  • Perform a key role in a very dynamic environment in the design and development of training programmes.
  • Track performance against training plans and reports regularly to the Manufacturing Training Lead and functional areas, with an objective to drive performance and compliance.
  • Create and revise department curricula. MasterControl is the learning management system for documenting and recording training activities, the Manufacturing Trainer is required to complete and provide training records in accordance with the requirements of the governing SOP.
  • Liaise with the Operations Training Business Partner to develop Manufacturing training reports and cascade this information to support local metrics.
  • Support audits by providing SME input, as well as training reports as requested.
  • Support a safe working environment by complying with all pertinent environmental health and safety practices, rules and regulations.
  • Ensure continual improvement of manufacturing documentation (SOPs, MBRs, OJT’s, ILT’s) for areas of responsibility to ensure they are current, accurate, and clear.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with GMP requirements, SOPs and controlled documents.
  • Flexible to take on additional tasks and responsibilities at the discretion of the Manufacturing Operations Associate Director and Manufacturing Training Lead.
  • Will act as a role model for the Manufacturing function and the wider organisation in adherence to the WuXi corporate core values and PROUD culture.
