Description:

The University of Manchester, in the framework of the project “Ion Mobility Mass Spectrometry Training Network” funded under HORIZON 2021-2027, Marie Skodowska-Curie Doctoral Networks, intends to employ one (1) person on a fixed-term contract, starting from the signing of the contract with duration of 36 months. The contract can be extended until the end date of the project 31/01/2028 (in case of extension until its completion) and within the approved limits of its budget. The researcher will undertake the preparation of a doctoral (PhD) thesis within the framework of the MobiliTraIN project. Mobilitrain involves academic and industrial groups from across Europe with specialised expertise in the use and application of advanced ion mobility mass spectrometry methods. Mobilitrain will act to lay the foundations for the adoption of IM-MS in industry by training 13 doctoral candidates.
The doctoral candidates in Mobilitrain will act collectively within their host organisations and each other to provide reference materials and guidelines for standardisation, develop state-of-the-art methods for the application of IM-MS in biopharmaceutical development, biological omics studies and non-target screening of contaminants. The network will provide the opportunity for training and execution of excellent science to each doctoral candidate.
