Description:

Our client is looking for experienced Marine crew for various roles in Auckland and Whangarei.
About our Client
Our client is a leading construction business specializing in marine construction projects across New Zealand . They operate a fleet of tugs and barges supporting construction and dredging projects at ports and marinas nationwide. With projects spanning from the far north to the deep south, there’s a busy and varied workload. No two days or voyages are the same!
Our client manages their fleet using a computerized maintenance management/fleet system , ensuring high standards of reliability, flexibility, and performance across high-profile industry work.
Our client operates five core tugs - multi-cats, coastal and ocean-going - ranging in length from 20m to 26m and power up to 2230kW giving the Master a variety of vessels to operate.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have the right to work in New Zealand
  • Must possess Maritime New Zealand certification for relevant roles
  • Specific qualifications include:
  • Master < 500GT Unlimited
  • Master < 500GT NC (preferably with a Pilot Exemption Certificate for Auckland Harbour)
  • Watchkeeper Deck
  • Marine Engineer MEC2, MEC2 <3000KW, MEC4 or MEC6
  • Skipper Coastal/Offshore (SCO)
  • Deck Watch Rating
  • Hydrographic Surveyor with 5 years of relevant experience and certification (or the ability to achieve certification) under the Australian Hydrographic Surveyors Certification Panel
  • Strong understanding of and respect for Workplace Health and Safety regulations
  • Ideally based in Auckland, though casual positions may be available for candidates throughout New Zealand
  • Willingness to travel for projects across New Zealand, Australia, and the Pacific Islands
