Job Title: Junior Marine Draftsperson
Location: Stuart Florida
Department: Marine Engineering/Design
Reports To: Senior Marine Draftsperson/Design Manager
Job Type: Full-Time
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Marine Draftsperson to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for marine vessels and structures. You will work closely with senior engineers and designers to translate conceptual designs into accurate and precise drawings that meet industry standards and project requirements.
EDUCATION:
Diploma or Associate Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Drafting, or a related field.
Experience: 0-2 years of experience in marine drafting or a similar role. Internship or co-op experience in a marine design environment is a plus.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Rhino, or similar) for 2D and 3D drafting.
- Basic understanding of marine engineering principles and ship design.
- Familiarity with drafting standards and practices in the marine industry.
SOFT SKILLS:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, techniques, and technologies.
- Basic knowledge of regulatory requirements and classification society rules (e.g., ABS, DNV) is an advantage.

- Drafting and Design:
- Prepare detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for marine vessels, including hull designs, structural components, piping systems, and electrical layouts.
- Assist in the development and modification of design plans based on project specifications and engineering feedback.
- Ensure that all drawings are accurate, comprehensive, and conform to industry standards.
