JOB SUMMARY
Pacific Yacht Systems Inc. (PYS) is a marine electrical and electronic systems outfit based in Vancouver, BC. We provide services to recreational vessels throughout the Lower Mainland and other areas of coastal British Columbia. PYS is currently seeking a full-time Marine Electrical Technician. This position involves installing, troubleshooting, and servicing AC and DC systems in a marine environment and installing navigation, communications, and entertainment electronics. It’s never the same job twice. PYS Marine Electrical Technicians service boats at marinas all over the city using fully-stocked PYS service vans.
All candidates must have top notch personal skills including:
- Fluent oral and written communications with team and clients
- Strong attention to detail, very good workmanship
- Highly efficient worker with a strong work ethic
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Hold a valid BC driver’s license and clean driving record
- Have a personal electrical tool ki
Responsibilities:
Electrical systems on pleasure boats are specialized. Preference will be given to candidates that have experience with marine battery systems, chargers, inverters, DC & AC distribution, solar, and marine electronics. However, any candidate with proven electrical skills, excellent workmanship, and a track record of performance in a service environment may be considered, especially with the Red Seal designation. Terms and compensation are based on experience and knowledge.
