As a marine engineering technician, you could: diagnose faults and repair equipment on a ship. help design and develop new marine equipment. refurbish older ships with new navigation and communications systems.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3years + experience in a Marine engineer or technician position (Marine Maintenance) in UAE
• Certified in 1500 watt engine operator, not mandatory

1. Operation and Monitoring:

• Operate and monitor the ship’s mechanical and electrical systems, including the engines, turbines, and auxiliary machinery.
• Ensure the proper functioning of propulsion and power generation systems.
• Monitor the condition of critical systems, ensuring they operate within safe parameters.

1. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

• Perform regular preventative maintenance on engines, pumps, compressors, and other mechanical or electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot and identify issues with equipment and machinery onboard.
• Perform repairs or replace faulty components to keep systems in optimal condition.

1. System Inspections:

• Conduct routine inspections of systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Inspect fuel systems, refrigeration units, pumps, motors, and auxiliary systems.

1. Technical Support and Documentation:

• Provide technical support to the ship’s crew and management.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, machinery performance, and repairs.
• Assist with the preparation of reports related to machinery status and repairs for the company or maritime authorities.

1. Emergency Response:

• Be prepared to respond to emergencies such as equipment failure, engine breakdowns, or fire incidents.
• Know how to use safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, life-saving appliances, and first aid kits in emergencies.

1. Coordination and Teamwork:

• Work closely with other marine engineers and technicians to ensure the vessel’s systems are operating efficiently.
• Collaborate with the crew to ensure the overall safety and efficiency of the vessel.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, machinery performance, and repairs.
• Assist with the preparation of reports related to machinery status and repairs for the company or maritime authorities.
