Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage day-to-day marine operations to ensure smooth and efficient vessel movements.
  • Coordinate with shipmasters, agents, and other stakeholders to facilitate port calls, cargo operations, and crew changes.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with international maritime regulations and company policies.
  • Handle documentation related to shipping operations, including bills of lading, cargo manifests, and customs declarations.
  • Manage and resolve any operational issues or emergencies that may arise.
  • Collaborate with various departments to optimize operational processes and improve service delivery.
  • Communicate with Marine Controller/Project Manager on operational matters, adhere to marine traffic management controls and provide alternatives on pending issues.
  • Follow the SOP in place for channel control and movement of transfer barges and log down all events in the relevant record books during watch duty.
  • Monitor and ensure that all transfer barges and craft follow the designated navigation route to and from the dumping sector.
  • Maintain a good listening watch on required VHF channel and pilot handset (when required) and continuous communication link with safety Tugs.
  • Report if any incidents that may occur i.e. Crane breakdown, hopper barge break down or injury.
  • In the event of adverse weather conditions or emergency situations, notify all the parties involved, liaise with Marine Controller, deploy safety tugs to assist vessel till pilot and assist tugs arrive.
  • Assist in other administrative duties required by Marine Controller/Project Manager.
  • Other adhoc duties as assigned.
