Description:
- Sending circular technical administration and safety information to engine room crew on monthly basis.
- Arrange in house training for all engine room crew either onshore or offshore.
- Maintain the periodic performance evaluation for the engine room crew quarterly.
- Audit and evaluate the technical performance of the engineers and engine room crew during the site visit.
- Ensure that the engine room crew are complying with the company policies & procedures for technical related issues.
- Supervise the implementation of PMS to ensure reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety issues.
- Review PMS regularly and amend it as required. Maintain a history for the same.
Supervise the engine room requisitions to ensure the required spare parts are ordered properly in either quantity or quality.
- Prior arrangement for annual quantities of consumables such as filters and lubricants.
- Monitor daily fuel consumption on board and ensure it is within the agreed limit.
- Monitoring the engine room inventory on monthly basis.
- Maintains contact with contractors to ensure completion of work at minimum cost.
- Reviews repair request and compare request with previous work accomplished on vessel concerned and similar vessels to determine that expenditures are economically sound
- Review, examine, and submit updated reports for the impact of the new expected international regulations on the vessel and operation.
Cooperate with the regulatory bodies to ensure that requirements for alterations, repair, or modifications are kept in minimum cost consistent with safety.
REQUIREMENTS
Candidate Must has a Minimum of 5 Years as Chief Engineer with onboard vessel experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine/Mechanical Engineering.
- Knowledge of the Marine industry
- Knowledge of Environment Safety Plan Management
- Licensure as a Master
- Extensive knowledge of tug, barge, or related vessel
- Strong technical knowledge of vessels, including mechanical, electrical (AC/DC), hydraulics, steel repair, and shipboard stability.
- Certificate in “fire fighting & prevention”, “First Aid”, and Incident Investigation
- Certificate in Ship security officer
