Job Title: Marine Technician - Tug and Barge Operations
Overview:
Join our dynamic marine team as a Marine Technician specializing in Tug and Barge Operations. We are seeking a highly skilled individual with a strong background in marine engineering and a focus on maintaining and optimizing the performance of our tugboats and barges. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our maritime operations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on tugboats and barges to ensure they meet operational standards.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on marine vessels.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to perform preventive maintenance on engines, propulsion systems, and auxiliary equipment.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of new marine equipment and systems.
- Participate in dry-dock activities, including inspections, repairs, and upgrades.
- Monitor and maintain proper inventory levels of spare parts and equipment.
- Purchasing of spare parts
- Provide technical support during tug and barge operations, addressing any on-the-spot issues that may arise.
- Collaborate with other marine professionals, including Captains and Engineers, to ensure seamless operations.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and report on vessel performance.
Qualifications:
- ITE / Diploma in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in marine technology or engineering.
- Have interest in marine maintenance and repair, with a focus on tugboats and barges.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols in the maritime industry.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and challenging marine environment.
- Willing to travel
