EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4-5 years’ experience in Information Analysis with current working knowledge of advanced statistical and analytical tools
  • Bachelor or higher degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics or equivalent Experience with market research, insights and report generation
  • Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Cloud Computing (AWS preferred), and database systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (written and oral), additional languages an asset
  • Ability to work well in a diverse, multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Strong self-starter and work ethic

ADDITIONAL SKILLS AN ASSET:

  • Experience with previous marketing and business development initiatives
  • Knowledge of the maritime industry and global trends
  • Experience with AIS and maritime data sets

Responsibilities:

The market intelligence analyst will be responsible for reviewing ongoing market conditions, trends and generating intelligence reports and content publications for prospects and customers. The individual will generate analysis and insights from GSTS’ proprietary platform, OCIANA, to support Marketing, BD and sales activities to end users.
As part of our team, you will support the continued commercialization of OCIANA, our platform that has been designed to deliver integrated solutions to enhance decision making across the maritime industry.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with the right experience, a strong drive to learn new technologies and wanting to work on innovative, decision-support solutions, that utilize Artificial Intelligence and Big Data analytics.

Under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Market Intelligence Analyst will:

  • Generate content for website and external publications to extend brand awareness and lead generation
  • Collect and analyze data from industry publications, databases, and internal repositories to generate market reports
  • Support marketing, business development and sales activities through data analysis, and insights for prospects and customers
  • Lead competitive intelligence at GSTS by monitoring competitor trends and identifying potential areas of product enhancement
  • Identify new verticals and markets which represent areas of growth for GSTS
  • Focus on enhancing GSTS global awareness and capabilities by providing timely market intelligence
  • Support communications and briefings at events which demonstrate GSTS thought leadership
  • Analyze customer preferences, behaviors, and demands to understand market dynamics and potential opportunities
  • Collaborate with the marketing, sales, and product development teams to align market intelligence findings with business objectives
  • Ad hoc supporting activities as requested
