JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Market Intelligence and Strategy Specialist role involves conducting comprehensive market research, collaborating with teams to develop product strategies, utilizing business analytics to present insights to senior management, and developing content for various audiences. The role also includes defining market positioning, analyzing competition, studying environmental changes, and delivering presentations based on research findings. It’s a key role that requires strong analytical skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. This position supports the marketing function by developing and compiling standard and ad-hoc marketing reports. The specialist integrates marketing data and information from multiple sources to produce reports and support the marketing of UPS products and services including sales support, product management, and resource management. This position runs queries on data from multiple sources, both proprietary and external, for summarization in standard reports. He/She performs data cleansing and transformation to facilitate analysis and reporting. This position reviews multiple data sources to validate accuracy of data included in reports. This position works cross-functionally to analyze and interpret information in response to ad-hoc requests. He/She efficiently and effectively summarizes information, trends, and analyses using graphs, charts, and text to inform management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or International equivalent in Marketing, Finance, Economics or a related field – Masters Preferred;
  • Experience demonstrating proficiency with Microsoft Office Products specifically Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI, and SQL;
  • Competence and strong interest to develop skills in product growth strategy;
  • Ability to design appealing visuals and craft presentations tailored to diverse audiences;
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in Product / Customer Marketing, Finance, Consulting or Strategy;
  • Passionate about building value for customers and not just achieving business results;
  • Self-motivated, accountable and proactive.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, competition, and industry insights. Use data analysis, market studies, and feedback from sales and customer interviews to forecast market opportunities, understand competition, and support product success;
  • Collaborate with functional and product teams across regions and business units to develop product value propositions and go-to-market strategies to enhance the company’s competitive edge;
  • Responsible for capturing internal data and information, and utilizing business analytics to synthesize and present actionable insights to senior management, supporting business cases and planning;
  • Develop and calibrate content for internal and external audiences to inform and educate audiences and support sales initiatives;
  • Define market positioning based on unique selling propositions (USPs), develop and maintain segmentation and personas within the SME segment, and monitor market indicators to identify new market opportunities;
  • Analyze competition and create competitor intelligence overviews. Study environmental changes, including macroeconomic, legal, and technological factors, that may impact products and services. Disseminate insights internally towards other relevant departments;
  • Preparate and deliver presentations based on comprehensive research findings to large-scale audiences via virtual sales trainings and other internal communication channels.
