Mercury Hampton have partnered with a leading manufacturer and supplier of valves, hydrants, and fittings for the water, wastewater, firefighting, and gas industries. Our client is part of a global group, which operates in over 100 countries and employs more than 4,500 people worldwide.

We are seeking an experienced Market Segment Manager to thrive in a newly established role focused on engaging with customers across the Water markets and segments. This position will be pivotal in providing actionable customer insights throughout the UK.

  • Proven experience in market intelligence or business development in the water sector
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Strategic thinking and ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Market Analysis and Trends

  • Identify and map key market trends across target segments in the UK water market
  • Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to inform strategic decisions
  • Monitor competitor activities and positioning relative to our client’s business

Pricing and Market Share

  • Assess market pricing for relevant products/solutions
  • Provide market size estimates
  • Conduct competitor analysis to support business planning

Product Innovation and Positioning

  • Monitor customer/market needs to drive product and solution innovations
  • Develop core positioning and messaging for our client’s products and services
  • Review and enhance marketing materials for accuracy and market relevance

Business Development

  • Identify new business opportunities within target segments
  • Generate thought leadership content for publication and presentation
  • Lead growth initiatives in assigned market segments

Industry Engagement

  • Represent our client at industry events and trade bodies
  • Develop segment-specific strategies to ensure our client’s market leadership
  • Provide regular market feedback and customer insights

Data Management and Reporting

  • Maintain and expand our client’s competitor and market intelligence database
  • Monitor performance of existing products to initiate improvement activities
  • Contribute to Techcom & Innovation meetings with market insights
