Description:
Overview:
The Transfer Flow Physician Coordinator is responsible for improving flow within the market and the market to ensure appropriate care is delivered for necessary transfer cases. This role will work closely with the Centralized Bed Management (CBM) team and will act as a primary liaison between nursing, Patient Access, various departments throughout the market, and outside facilities and providers to ensure the prompt and accurate placement/assignment of patients into a bed/unit. This role is responsible for facilitating the resolution of any issues that affect efficient patient flow throughout the market. Collaborates with nursing and other clinical departments in determining the best placement of a patient regarding the patient’s clinical needs and the availability of services. This person will report to the markets Chief Clinical Officer.

Qualifications:
- Education: Medical doctorate degree from a recognized college or university and completion of residency training in a clinical specialty, required. MBA / Masters in Healthcare, preferred.
- Experience: 3+ yeas active practice experience outside of residency, required.
- Licensure/Certification: Must have board certification in clinical specialty, required.
- Additional Skills (required):
- Hospitalist role rounding and admitting experience.
- Demonstrated communication and professional relationships building skills
- Skills for problem solving, teamwork, and developing innovative solutions. Strong organizational skills.
- Utilizes organizational safety behaviors and is the ultimate advocate for prevention of harm for patients.
- Complies with and supports department policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, high level of problem solving and critical thinking skills to find solutions to difficult human, technical, clinical or administrative problems.
