Description:
JOB OVERVIEW:
The Marketing Analyst supports The Capital Grille and Eddie V’s brand teams in executing marketing strategy by facilitating the execution of marketing projects including consumer promotions, new food and beverage menu items, and/or advertising/communications/digital initiatives. In this role, the Marketing Analyst collaborates with cross-functional team members (e.g., Consumer Research/Insights, Digital Marketing, Business Analytics, Information Technology, Culinary Development/Chefs, Finance, Operations, Training) to ensure that projects and initiatives support overall brand plans. Additionally, Marketing Analysts gain exposure to Darden’s marketing processes in preparation for further business education, training, and experiences. Marketing Analysts also support others in the management of external vendors/agencies and the evaluation of project results.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Knowledge and comfort with the use of computers and various programs and information systems (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, etc.)
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field
OTHER KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1-2 years’ experience working in marketing
- Experience in hospitality marketing a strong plus
- Knowledge of current consumer and industry behaviors, trends, attitudes, preferences, and needs preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Organization and time management skills with the ability to organize, plan, and follow-up with tasks
- Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize various job activities/tasks, including the ability to multi-task when necessary
- Ability to adjust communication style such that it is effective with various audiences
- Ability to analyze and evaluate information
- Ability to communicate (verbal and written) with clarity in the business environment
- Ability to exercise appropriate judgment by using information and knowledge to make timely, effective decisions

Responsibilities:
- Partners with cross-functional team members to execute marketing projects such as new food or beverage menu items, consumer promotions, marketing communications digital projects
- Oversees Menu Rollout Schedules and coordinates menu tastings and approval meetings. Support in annual menu review, collecting and organizing competitor data.
- Oversees and executes test markets for promotions, new food or beverage launches, and marketing communication programs; reports test results and evaluates projects for further national launch.
- Organize and oversee ideation and project timelines for signature event programs, including creative development and supporting training communication to Operations teams prior to launch.
- Develops and uses project timelines and calendars
- Manages Local Store marketing requests
- Executes daily tasks to manage the national and/or local promotion and or advertising/communications calendars
- Works cross-functionally to exchange information and support ongoing projects and initiatives.
- Interfaces with vendors/agencies to facilitate project execution
- Supports budgeting, contract agreements, and invoice payment for vendor/agency-related work
- Analyzes results of marketing projects and initiatives and communicates results to Marketing Leaders (e.g., Brand Managers)
- Examines Brand metrics (e.g., sales, guest-counts, CI data), identifies trends, and provides recommendations to Marketing Leaders (e.g., Brand Managers)
- Monitors core competitor menus, promotions, offerings, and/or advertising/communications
- Obtains feedback from Darden teams (e.g., Ops, CI); shares feedback with Brand Managers
- Maintains marketing budget, invoices and month-end reconciliation.
- Maintains Hours of Operation spreadsheet and distributing updates to support center.
