REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus in marketing, communications or equivalent work experience.
- 2 Years as a marketing, communications, advertising or creative department assistant.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Adobe Suite (Acrobat, InDesign and Photoshop).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent grammar, writing ability and vocabulary.
- College-level English composition, journalism, and marketing courses preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook) with the ability to lean new software products required.
- Intermediate knowledge and demonstrated experience in Design software (Adobe InDesign and Photoshop) and design experience are a plus.
- Attention to detail; high level of accuracy; ability to maintain confidentiality and function effectively under high volumes of work and deadlines.
- Ability to execute tasks with minimal instruction.
- Must be well organized and detail oriented.
- Strong interpersonal skills dealing with all levels of employees, physicians, patients, and community members.
- Excellent customer service skills and a positive ‘can-do’ attitude.
- Responsiveness and ability to work under deadline pressure on occasion.

Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will play a crucial role in enhancing the entity’s communication strategies. This position involves creating engaging content for internal and external audiences. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will also assist with media relations and manage Sharp social media presence, ensuring alignment with Sharp brand and strategic goals. Additionally, this role will support department initiatives and project objectives, and help manage timelines and deliverables.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Implements Media RelationsWorks with team to develop and pitch story ideas to the media.Writes press releases and media alerts.Contributes to Sharp online newsroom and monthly media tip sheet.
- Internal and External CommunicationsWrites various internal and external communications as needed.Takes photos as needed for internal and external communications.Proofreads all materials to ensure accuracy and Sharp writing style.Oversees and monitors way finding and signage for the entity.
- Maintain Online CommunicationsWrites and monitors social media.Manages social media activity calendar.Attends system digital content/social media meetings and contributes ideas and content for Sharp HealthCare and entity social media pages.Develops and writes posts for entity Facebook page, including photography and video assets.
- Special Events, Patient Seminars and OutreachCoordinates special events, community Zoom seminars and other outreach activities.Partners with cross-departmental teams to plan and implement events, including employee and physician recognition events, celebrations and more.
- Marketing ResponsibilitiesDesign marketing materials, including flyers, newsletters, social media graphics, and other visual content, ensuring consistency with brand guidelinesProvides entity marketing and communications team with general marketing support.Manages timelines for department initiative and special projects as assigned.
