ABOUT THE INSURANCE COUNCIL

The Insurance Council of British Columbia is the regulatory organization that licenses and regulates the activities of over 50,000 life and general insurance agents, general insurance salespersons, insurance adjusters, and restricted travel insurance agents in British Columbia.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in marketing and corporate communications.
  • Experience in a regulatory/compliance environment is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with external consultants/service providers
  • Post-secondary education, such as a university degree in communications or a related field, e.g., public relations, marketing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with corporate social media account
  • Proficiency with email marketing platforms
  • Proficiency with Website CMS, (content management system) e.g., Kentico
  • Familiarity with graphic design and layout
  • Familiarity with producing video or multimedia content for corporate use.
  • Experience in customer satisfaction/engagement measurement
    Salary Range: $74,131 - 106,564 with a midpoint of $92,664 per annum. Upon hire, new employees will be placed in a starting salary between the minimum and P50 (midpoint) of the salary range. The P50 of the range represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications, and experience for the position

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes marketing and/or communications plans to support identified regulatory and operational initiatives or program activities, working closely with teammates, internal clients and subject matter experts (SMEs).
  • Manages corporate brand standards and supports consistent application of the brand and corporate communication standards by carrying out reviews, providing guidance/training to staff, and developing tools and resources.
  • Develops marketing materials and engaging content in various media (video, text, graphics, audio, etc.) for Insurance Council of BC audiences in support of strategic communication and outreach.
  • Contributes to and participates in organizational and departmental projects, acting as a marketing/comms subject matter expert and executing assigned tasks.
  • Provides support and advice to internal clients to develop or review content for effective communication to internal and external audiences.
  • Manages publication design projects, including coordination of graphic design and layout.
  • Participates in departmental and program goal setting and strategy discussions.
  • Monitors, assesses, and reports on marketing/communication campaign/strategy effectiveness.
  • Contributes to the Insurance Council’s social media accounts.
  • Prepares and distributes information via communications channels (email blast, website, etc.)
  • Supports public relations and stakeholder engagement programs and activities.
  • Coordinates organizational presence at tradeshow or outreach events.
  • Provides event coordination and support as needed.
  • Provides support to senior staff and officials for development and delivery of presentations/speaking engagements, and public and stakeholder engagement events/activities.
  • Contributes to website content development.
  • Writes articles for website and email distribution.
