Overview of the position: The Marketing and Development Coordinators primarily responsible is assisting the Vice President of Development and Communications with marketing functions, fundraising activities including database support, and media development and relations.
The pay range:The base pay for this position is $66,560 - $69,014.40 annually.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business or similarly-related degree.
  • 4+ years of experience
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to develop engaging and innovative marketing content.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including project management software (Monday.com), and social media management tools.
  • Strong research skills and knowledge of information sources.
  • Multitasking, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with utmost integrity.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Experience with Zoom, Google Workspace, MS Office 365, (including Outlook, Word, Sharepoint, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams)
  • Strong experience with Donor s
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working both independently and as a part of a dynamic, interdependent team.
  • Software systems, Give Smart and Donor Perfect preferred.
  • Ability to write newsletters and collateral materials.
  • Strong background and skills with all social media platforms including YouTube, website, Google Analytics, Canva, Photo Shop,
  • Must be able to fluently read, write and communicate in English
  • Must be able to, both mentally and physically, perform all aspects of job description and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Must be able to work a flexible scheduled to include weekends and evenings.
  • Must have own vehicle, valid drivers license, and current vehicle insurance.

YOUR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time while viewing a computer monitor
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard
  • Capable of hearing and speaking to exchange information
  • Seeing to read reports and data
  • Ability to speak English
  • Ability to work in a noisy, busy environment

Responsibilities:

  • Manage marketing and communications for VVSD activities on social media, website, advertisements, brochures, flyers, billboards, radio ads, and other venues.
  • Responsible for Donor newsletter and annual report.
  • Develops and delivers branded collateral, presentations, marketing materials and communications; ensures consistent use of the veterans Village of San Diego brand, mission, and messaging.
  • Organize and initiate contacts with media for interviews, statements, press releases, etc.
  • Fosters relationships with outside vendors and key stakeholders to help promote fundraising and donation campaigns.
  • Responsible for tracking fundraising donations and sending follow up correspondence with donors as required.
  • Maintains donor database and develops reports as requested.
  • Updates and maintains the media relations database.
  • Other duties as assigned.
