The Role
The Senior Manager, Marketing Campaigns is responsible for building Cunard brand equity and meeting commercial objectives through the delivery of an effective multi-channel media strategy and integrated consumer marketing campaigns that enhance our target audiences’ perceptions of the brand. The Senior Manager, Marketing Campaigns is also responsible for managing the development and implementation of marketing promotions as well as delivering successful product launches to market.
The role sits within the UK based Cunard Marketing team, which is made up of the Marketing Campaigns team, as well as the CRM team, Trade Marketing and Sales Operations Team, and Design Studio. Although within the UK this role is expected to contribute to developing and maintaining positive global ways of working and alignment with the Cunard global marketing teams, as well as being responsible for managing and maintaining positive agency relationships with our media, creative and content agencies. The impact of the role is broad reaching and across multiple stakeholders and disciplines touching every part of the customer journey from advertising, content, promotions and new product launches or updates.
Specific areas of responsibility include:
Acquisition campaign planning and delivery:
The Senior Manager, Marketing Campaigns leads and ultimately owns all elements of marketing campaign and promotion development and execution across ATL and BTL channels, including (but not limited to) TV, Press, Radio, Media Partnerships, Paid Search (PPC), Organic Search (SEO), Affiliates (lead generation), online Display and paid social media. Within these channels, the role holder is responsible for leading and driving the team in the strategic media planning, technical implementation, ongoing optimisation (targeting and value), campaign insight and reporting. Within this role, the role holder must have an overarching view of our target audience demographics and our target customers’ journey from ‘Awareness and Consideration’ to ‘Planning and Booking’ and make business-critical media spend investment decisions based on analytics data, business objectives and the strategic vision. As such the role is responsible for ensuring that the effectiveness of all media activities is fully analysed and measured on a regular basis.
Analytics:
Performance management, optimisation, and reporting: The role requires an excellent ability to gather, interpret and communicate technical and business-critical data to a broad and senior audience. The Senior Manager will lead the conversations on improving the business’ offline and online analytics, attribution modelling and marketing effectiveness.
External agency management:
The Senior Manager, Marketing Campaigns is the responsible and primary contact for our advertising creative agency and Media agency/agencies for both online and offline media. They will drive value generating activities, decide priorities against commercial objectives and troubleshoot issues. In addition, the role holder will work regularly with selected content production agencies ensuring their objectives are clear and delivered in accordance with Cunard’s Visual Identity guidelines.
Budget and Value Management:
The Senior Manager, Marketing Campaigns will be responsible for the annual forecasting and monthly management of the Digital Acquisition, Advertising and Global Marketing Services (Content) budgets, employing a ‘one budget approach’ to campaign planning, ensuring that all media spend, and costs are maintained in line with agreed campaign and annual budgets. Responsibilities will include PO and Invoice tracking, monthly submissions, and reconciliation of spend, and an ongoing commitment to maximise agency retainer value and cost efficiencies.
Problem solving:
The role includes understanding the Cunard target audience, media landscape and marketing channels to work with the internal team and agency network to develop and deliver media plans that grow brand metrics and deliver against commercial requirements. The role holder will also be required to perform regular and thorough performance analysis of marketing activity across all media channels including brand tracking, econometric modelling, and individual channel performance metrics – working with the team and agency to provide recommendations that drive growth in these areas.
Impact:
Role holder is a part of the marketing leadership team and is expected to have impact across the marketing function setting the standard for strategic planning and delivery of our marketing campaigns. The impact of the role will also be felt globally as the role holder should also demonstrate an ability to influence and support global marketing teams to tailor and execute centrally developed campaigns and product launches in their markets with a view to creating consistency of approach globally.
Leadership:
The Senior Manager, Marketing Campaigns is responsible for the management, development and inspiration of own team members and fostering a positive, collaborative and open working environment within their team. They are also expected to be a role model for positivity, mutual respect, engagement, motivation and our Culture Essentials across the broader marketing and Cunard team, and with our external agency partners. They should also act as a leader in the broader global marketing organization – sharing best practice and adopting a thought-leadership approach.
Our role categories range from CUK15 (entry level) to CUK1 (Brand President) so you can clearly see internal development opportunities. This role is a CUK06 and is offered on a full-time permanent contract basis}, with hybrid working in our Southampton office, including up to two days from home.
