About You
As the Marketing Communications Officer at RMIT Activator, you will play a vital role in enhancing the institution’s reputation as a leader in impact-driven entrepreneurship. You will support the marketing and communication efforts by executing campaigns tailored to diverse audiences, including, but not limited to RMIT-affiliated entrepreneurs and external project funders.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Promoting RMIT Activator’s involvement in sustainable community initiatives and open innovation.
  • Generating leads and curating engaging content.
  • Managing digital marketing efforts, including website maintenance and monthly newsletters.
  • Engaging with stakeholders and supporting event marketing.
  • Conducting market research to inform strategic decisions.
  • Analysing key metrics to assess the effectiveness of marketing strategies and ensuring they align with RMIT Activator’s goals.

This role requires a proactive, strategic, and data-driven approach, with a strong commitment to driving growth in entrepreneurial and sustainable community development sectors. Your success will be driven by your creativity, initiative, teamwork, and ability to collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have:

  • Strong communication skills including a proven ability to prepare copy for social media, digital marketing, publications, and the web.
  • Proven experience in content creation and campaign management via digital and social channels.
  • Proficiency in developing and optimising marketing campaigns and communications.
  • Strong understanding of email marketing strategies and tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and manage multiple projects and tight deadlines under broad direction.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of marketing principles and practice, particularly Account-Based Marketing.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel & Power Point packages, and project management tools.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent interpersonal skills.

Qualifications
A tertiary qualification in Advertising, Marketing or a related field is required and significant experience in a fast-paced environment.

The Business Systems and Operations Support (BSOS) role is critical to enabling the co-ordination and delivery of these programs, projects and supporting business functions.
