The Peripheral Vascular Health (PVH) Operating Unit is dedicated to the treatment of peripheral arterial and venous diseases. We offer our physician customers a comprehensive suite of products and therapies to treat varying degrees of vascular disease — disorders of the circulatory system outside of the brain and heart. Our goal is to help healthcare professionals save limbs, reduce pain, and treat disease — so their patients can get back to enjoying what they love.
As Marketing Consultant for Embolization in Western Europe (WE), you will be responsible for driving the growth of the Embolization business at country/region level by developing and driving local growth strategies and plans, strengthening therapy & product knowledge in the sales force, supporting new adopters of Medtronic’s Embolization solutions, and developing Centers of Excellence with key opinion leaders to drive local training & education activities.
The position reports to WE marketing and will act as a liaison between WE marketing and the local sales & marketing organizations, while supporting the overall WE business growth.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

Product & Therapy Expertise

  • Builds and maintains own product & therapy expertise through internal trainings, review of existing and new clinical literature, best practice sharing with WE and Global peers, KOL inputs and attending scientific symposia
  • Applies expertise to support the development of local and regional promotional and training materials
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Medtronic and competitor therapy and product knowledge and is proficient at addressing customer questions

Business Growth

  • Supports local sales teams to penetrate competitive accounts increase market share in existing accounts
  • Participates in and supports promotional activities in major national & international congresses and symposia
  • Supports new users by providing on-site or remote training and guidance for first procedures
  • Monitors competitive activities and supports the protection of existing customers from competitors

Sales Force Proficiency

  • Supports internal training programs for the Embolization products and therapies
  • Support the development of local Embolization “champions” in the local sales organizations
  • Helps address questions on products & therapies from the local sales and marketing teams

Key Opinion Leader and Centre of Excellence Development

  • Helps drive and execute our WE KOL strategy for Embolization
  • Establishes and leverages solid relationships with KOLs to support medical education and marketing initiatives
  • Supports the local sales organizations to establish Centers of Excellence for embolization

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience with the medical device industry ideally in sales and/or marketing positions
  • Expertise in embolization products and therapies
  • Experience in account planning and consultative selling
  • Experience supporting endovascular procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills
  • Willingness to travel internationally at least 70% of the time
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility with all levels of customer base
  • Can work autonomously but is also a team player
