JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible to: Communications Manager

ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES - SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Highly literate and numerate
  • Previous experience in marketing role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A natural flair for design and creativity online and offline
  • Proficiency in social media platforms, content creation and graphic design to support marketing effort
  • Adept at using marketing tools and CRM software to manage and analyse customer interactions
  • Proven competency in Microsoft Office and other software programmes, including database creation, spreadsheets etc
  • Proof reading skills and good attention to detail
  • Basic video skills
  • Previous experience with publications
  • Confident and enthusiastic when dealing with members of the public
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to build strong relationships with partners, good liaison skills and engaging personality
  • Able to plan and make best use of promotional opportunities

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE:

To be responsible for co-ordinating all internal and external marketing communications for the Town Council. To conduct market and prospect research, organise marketing campaigns and events, create and coordinate marketing content and facilitate cross-functional team efforts.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Create marketing content and campaigns for all online and offline communications, being mindful of digital poverty in the locality and the need to address this through appropriate marketing channels.
  2. Work with the Events Co-Ordinator to ensure provision of appropriate promotional materials for the events programme.
  3. Conduct market research as directed by the Communications Manager.
  4. Form strong and effective working relationships with key partners and businesses keeping up to date with events and helping to organise and promote them.
  5. Assist in ensuring that all social media platforms in use by the Council are developed maintained and monitored.
  6. Act in a polite, professional, and capable manner at all times, as would be expected of an employee of the Town Council.
  7. Undertake any other duties required by the Council consistent with the level and scope of the post.
