JOB SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Sr. Communication/Marketing Specialist, the Marketing Development Specialist provides a variety of services and strategy to the Marcom department as well as the Academic and Professional Programs Developers and Program Coordinators. This position assists in developing and executing marketing and communication strategies, media plans, and media buys. The focus of the work is to position the College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPaCE) to meet strategic and long-term objectives for enrollments and branding in the marketplace.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and three years of related professional or technical experience required.
- Marketing experience in a higher education setting preferred.
- Experience with content management systems and databases preferred.
PHYSICAL SUMMARY
- Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).
Responsibilities:
- Marketing Plan Creation, Implementation, and Campaign Recap - Assists with developing and executing communication strategies and plans to promote and position CPaCE as the choice for continuing education. This includes leading project teams to develop campaigns using research of target audience research, to inception of the marketing plan, marketing message, and implementation. This position leads the recap report efforts, which include gathering data from various databases and vendor sources. Assists in managing media buys for institutional and program-based marketing campaigns.
- Marketing Automation - Assist with the development of MarCom’s CRM strategy and marketing automation strategy and content creation including, target lists creation, developing communication workflows. Implement proactive, appealing, and innovative email campaigns in consultation and collaboration with CPaCE units.
- Financial Analysis and Budget Tracking - Assist with preparing and submitting marketing related purchasing requests including advertising, mail house, promotional items, email/mailing lists and printing. The incumbent assists with tracking marketing and media expenses that are associated with the institutional as well as program specific campaigns. Analyzes budget reports and financial data together with the Sr. Communication/Marketing Specialist, including cost analysis associated with marketing.
- Market Research and Reporting - Assist Sr. Communication/Marketing Specialist in market research projects. Uses market research and customer data to determine the most effective techniques and approaches for reaching target audiences; identifying the needs and interests of various constituent groups; translating the results of research into strategic communication efforts including selecting the best medium to achieve goals.
