Job Title: Marketing & Digital/Social Media Strategist
Location: Mississauga, Ontario (Hybrid options available)
Company Overview: We are a small but innovative analytical laboratory offering a range of specialized testing services to both businesses and the public. Our CanAlt human health division provides a range of analytical testing through healthcare providers, our Lipid division performs testing of fats and lipids for use in food and supplements, and tests for veterinary care are currently in development. Additionally, through an affiliated online platform, we empower consumers with direct access to a variety of health and wellness tests. We are looking for a creative, dynamic, and results-driven Marketing & Digital/Social Media Strategist to help grow our brand, elevate our digital presence, and drive customer engagement and sales.
Job Description: As our Marketing & Digital/Social Media Strategist, you will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies across digital and social media channels, including content creation, website maintenance, social media management, and advertising campaigns. You will play a key role in growing our brand awareness, increasing customer engagement, and driving sales through thoughtful, data-driven online marketing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive digital marketing strategies across various platforms, including social media (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.), email campaigns, and SEO and, most importantly, develop a successful strategy to convert online traffic to sales.
- Create and/or coordinate the creation of engaging and visually appealing content (graphics, videos, blog posts) for marketing materials and social media channels.
- Manage and maintain the company’s social media accounts, ensuring a consistent brand voice and aesthetic as well as managing the company’s website and amending its content as required.
- Monitor social media trends, audience engagement, and analytics to adjust strategies as needed.
- Coordinate advertising initiatives, including Google Ads and social media advertising.
- Collaborate with internal teams to create marketing materials for product launches, promotions, and trade shows.
- Design and administer customer surveys to gather feedback and insights for improving the customer experience.
- Conduct ongoing SEO optimization efforts to improve website traffic and conversion rates.
- Measure the success of digital marketing campaigns and provide regular reports to management.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and adjust marketing strategies to stay competitive.
Desired Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in marketing, digital marketing, or social media management.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful digital marketing campaigns with a high rate of traffic conversion to sales.
- Experience managing social media platforms and creating engaging content.
- Strong understanding of SEO best practices and experience with SEO tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush).
- Knowledge of paid advertising on Google and social media platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) and content creation tools is a significant asset.
- Experience with trade shows or event coordination is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with analytical laboratories and/or the health/wellness industry is a plus but not required.
