Description:
OVERVIEW
Commercial Truck Equipment is looking for an organized and driven Marketing Events Coordinator to join its team. This is an in-person, full-time permanent position designed for a marketing professional with a passion for event planning and logistics, with previous experience managing trade shows, conventions, and corporate events. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in executing Commercial’s extremely busy and diverse presence at shows and events across Canada.
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the successful candidate will oversee event planning and execution, trade show logistics, and convention management, while supporting the broader Marketing department. This role involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, vendor management, and coordination of various marketing materials. The Marketing Events Coordinator will also interface with senior leadership and contribute to the company’s growth through impactful events and promotions.
Candidates with real-world event management experience, coupled with excellent organizational and communication skills, will be ideal for this role. The successful candidate should be willing and able to travel nationally occasionally to support the events they’re organizing.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A demonstrated history of experience in event planning, trade show coordination, or marketing-related roles.
- Higher education in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working in B2B environments or with industrial and/or technical products is considered an asset.
DESIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
- Event Logistics and Trade show Expertise: Multiple years of event management experience is required. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated history of running, planning, and organizing tradeshows and corporate events.
- Exceptional Organizational Skills: The successful candidate will have absolute top-of-class attention to detail and the drive to ensure details are never missed. Effective and comfortable prioritizing and triaging multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Communication Proficiency: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience in creating event briefs, advertising copy, and post-event reports.
- Technically Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), familiarity with project management tools, and basic knowledge of graphic design software such as Illustrator or Photoshop is an asset.
- Flexibility to Travel: Willingness to travel across Canada to support events and conventions (approximately 15-25 days/year).
- Class 5 Driver’s License is required to assist with event transportation and truck shuttling needs.
- Mechanical or Technical Aptitude: Basic understanding of trucks, heavy equipment or vehicles is not required but is considered an asset.

Responsibilities:
- Event Planning and Management: Coordinate all aspects of trade shows, conventions, and other marketing events. This includes show registration, venue booking, logistics planning, and on-site coordination.
- Event Logistics Support: Manage all travel arrangements, accommodation, booth design, and transportation logistics for event-related materials and vehicles.
- Sponsorship and Cause-Based Marketing: Manage all corporate sponsorship and cause-based marketing efforts, including sending collateral, coordinating appearances, arranging for donations to be sent or mailed, and the administrative follow-up.
- Marketing Support: Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure promotional items, banners, displays, and signage for events are in place. Work closely with designers and vendors to ensure timely production and delivery.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal teams, senior leadership, and external partners to ensure alignment on event objectives and deliverables.
- Internal Event Management: Plan and execute internal corporate events, such as employee appreciation parties, holiday gatherings, and recognition programs.
- Promotional Material Management: Oversee inventory, ordering, and distribution of branded materials, giveaways, and apparel for events and campaigns.
- General Administrative Support: Assist with the Marketing department’s administrative tasks, including invoice processing and budget tracking.
